I chose my university by rankings

My name is Vivek and I am from India – New Delhi, basically. I was working as a junior scientist there long ago, so it's seems I am having very long relationship with research.

Once I was just flipping the QS World Ranking and I just saw NUST MISiS, I mean it's in the top BRICS Rankings, and I though: 'Yes, I should get in there to continue my research work." Actually, I was planning to get in some more research-oriented universities across the entire globe – let's say Germany or USA – but once I went to NUST MISiS and saw all those things I said, "Yeah, this should be my dream college."

I am getting into Operative Computer Design, which is one of the parts of Computer Vision that leads to actual machine learning, and machine learning is nowadays one of the hardest topics of research in the computer science field. If you want to be someone very known, just get into machine learning, and that’s it.

The most important thing for a researcher is to carry on with his or her research prosposal what he or she has had in mind for a long time. So the point was that I was looking to focus in just Computer Vision, and once I got to know I could make good progress with that I got into NUST MISiS for obvious reasons. Apart from the facilities being extremely good, it has good labs and professors, well-known faculties, and access to all the research journals, so that is all that a student needs, besides luxury that is all for studies and NUST MISiS is proving all.

Russia is a land of friendship, you can say that. Beauty is all around. Everything is beautiful and people are just awesome. I can just say that I have made more friends in Russia in just 10 months than I have in the last 10 years in India.
