Joint programmes in various fields, from diplomacy to chemical technology are available to prospective international students.
Ural Federal University, founded more than a century ago, is located in Yekaterinburg. It provides training to nearly 35,000 students, including more than 3,000 foreign nationals. UrFU actively cooperates with international universities offering joint programmes such as International Economics and Business (38.03.01 Economics). After two years of study at UrFU students can continue their education at one of three partner universities: Kedge Business School, France; Liege University Management School, Belgium, or Zagreb School of Economics and Management, Croatia.
Language of instruction: Russian, English. Students learn to make economic forecasts, model optimal decision-making, manage socio-economic big data and develop innovation strategies for business. They can choose internship at one of 40 companies.
The programme is aimed at training research analysts in consulting, mid- and top-level managers for international economic organisations and state-owned agencies, and specialists for foreign trade, planning and forecasting departments, market research units of Russian or international companies and self-employed persons.
"International Economics and Business" is EPAS (European Program Accreditation System) accredited by EFMD; in addition to the diploma, graduates get international certificate confirming the owner’s professional qualification. Tuition fee, residents of non-CIS countries: 344,000 rubles a year, residents of CIS countries: 275,000 rubles a year; discount opportunities are available.
UrFU has many partner universities across the Commonwealth of Independent States. It implements several graduate double degree programmes jointly with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University such as Organisation and Management in Social Work (39.04.02 Social Work), Energy Diplomacy (41.04.05 International Relations), Motivation and Self-Actualisation in Sport (49.04.03 Sport), Socio-Professional Youth Strategies (39.04.01 Social Science) etc.
There are joint programmes with M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan State University: Chemical Technology of Organic Materials and Biologically Active Substances (18.04.01 Chemical Technology), Food Biotechnology (14.04.01 Biotechnology), Printing and Packaging Technology (29.04.03 Printing and Packaging Technology).
Joint programmes with National Polytechnic University of Armenia: master’s degree programme Information Management Systems and Data Analysis (09.04.01 Information Technology and Computer Science). Joint master’s degree programme with Osimi Tajik Technical university: Power Installations, Power Plants and Complexes on the Base of Unconventional and Renewable Energy Sources (13.04.02 Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering).
Five master’s programmes with North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower: Civil Engineering (08.03.01 Civil Engineering), Geodesy and Remote Sensing (21.03.03 Geodesy and Remote Sensing), Water Supply and Sewage (08.03.01 Civil Engineering), Architecture (07.03.01 Architecture), Heat Power Engineering (13.03.01 Heat Power Engineering).
The students on graduate master’s degree programme study at the Russian university during the first year and at a partner university during the second. The commissions of representatives of both universities attend the final examinations. Graduates get a degree from UrFU and partner university.
