International Сooperation

International Partners

Far Eastern Federal University has built a large network of partnerships across the Asian-Pacific region. As of 2018, it had 350 agreements with 231 partners from 38 countries. FEFU has traditionally relied on its key partner universities and organisations in China, South Korea and Japan.

International Cooperation

FEFU collaboration with international universities includes joint research, seminars and conferences and double degree and exchange programmes. The university runs regular short and intensive programmes as the summer and winter schools. Every year, FEFU improves the quality of such programmes which attract an increasing number of participants. In 2017, more than 100 international students from Europe, Southeast Asia, North America and Oceania participated in FEFU projects. The Ice Mechanics winter school and the Russia - Far East summer school have been particularly popular in the recent years.

FEFU in International Associations

Participation in international organisations and associations is an important element of FEFU international activity. The University is a member of 16 international university organisations and the only Russian participant in the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) which brings together 50 top research universities from 16 countries of the Asian-Pacific region.

Offices in Foreign Countries

Pursuant to the strategy of internationalisation of education and FEFU promotion in the Asian-Pacific region, the Russian university has reached accords with Japan and Vietnam on reciprocal opening of offices. In 2018-2019, FEFU opened its offices at Tokai University, Tokyo, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing. FEFU is expected to accommodate the offices of these education centres on its premises in the near future. Talks are underway over the launching of FEFU office in the town of Guayaquil, Ecuador.
