Support of International Students
Foreign students can always count on support in solving a wide variety of issues that arise during their studies in Petrozavodsk. Employees of the PetrSU international service accompany foreign students from the first months in Petrozavodsk until they receive a diploma in their main specialty. For the convenience of foreigners who do not speak Russian, a convenient version of the official website of PetrSU in English has been developed. Through a simple online form, applicants can directly ask all questions about admission to PetrSU and study in Russia.
For foreign students who are already studying at PetrSU, a Facebook group has been created, which publishes useful information on studies and migration rules, announcements of interesting events in the city, articles on learning the Russian language and much more, which allows foreigners to feel part of the local student and urban community.
In addition, there is Slovo international agency which is involved in organizing work with foreign students. This is a linguistic volunteer movement that unites students from all over the world, regardless of nationality, age and major. Organizers, volunteers, participants and guests watch and discuss films together, cook national dishes, listen to and give lectures, play, learn to communicate and understand each other, and even travel.
Everyday Life of International Students
PetrSU creates the most comfortable conditions for adaptation and further study of foreign students in Petrozavodsk. Starting from the preparatory faculty, all foreigners are provided with places in one of the modern campus dormitories.
Leisure and Sport Events
Along with Russian students, foreigners can join one of the creative teams of PetrSU. This is an academic choir, two theaters, several ensembles, a pop vocal studio, various clubs.
For sports you can enroll in one of 20 sports clubs (skiing, volleyball, futsal, wushu, orienteering, weightlifting, judo, basketball, athletics, chess, checkers, game of go, sambo, aerobics, tourism). There is a stadium for training, ski slopes, a swimming pool, modern gyms.
