The programme offers training of qualified specialists not only in data mining, but also in application of necessary methods to the field of biological and biomedical data, as well as knowledge extraction.

Our graduates are ready to work in research institutes, laboratories, pharmaceutical, biochemical, and bioinformatical companies, in the industry, government, environmental and medical enterprises and other organizations using computer for analysis of various types of biological processes.
Our alumni have the opportunity to continue their studies as PhD-students of programmes dealing with IT and applied mathematics.
Admissions
Admission is competitive, students with Bachelor’s degrees or higher are eligible. The admission tests are an exam in Applied Mathematics and Informatics and an interview intended to help a student demonstrate the following skills:
- ability to apply their knowledge in applied mathematics and mathematical statistics, computer sciences and IT;
- ability to perform research and to obtain new scientific and applied results;
- ability communicate in business Russian and foreign languages; ability to be socially active and mobile;
- ability to formulate reasons for studying the programme.
