Advantages of studying in Russia for foreign nationals

I was provided with all the information I need prior to my arrival. There were no difficulties in connection with my trip to Russia (Petrozavodsk). The cold weather and lack of sunlight was difficult to adapt to at first. The university could advise students an appropriate winter clothing and footwear.

I like my Russian courses at the University very much so I would not change anything. In Australia, my Russian classes were conducted in English whereas in Petrozavodsk they are conducted in Russian. Therefore, it was somewhat difficult to understand what was going on for about the first week.

I was reasonably satisfied with the living conditions. Future students should simply be aware that some of the comforts they are accustomed to at home may not be available to them in Petrozavodsk.

Petrozavodsk is a very pleasant, safe, easygoing town. Everyone was very happy to help and communicate with foreigners.

PetrSU is a fantastic university with engaging and interested students and helpful staff. Very good teaching facilities. My teachers were very friendly, patient, helpful, intelligent and professional.

I have greatly enjoyed my stay in Petrozavodsk and feel that it was highly beneficial for my Russian. I am sad that I was only able to stay for one month. I hope to return in the future!
