National University of Science and Technology MISIS specialises in training engineers in metallurgy and mining engineering.   1. English-taught master’s programme “Advanced Metallic Materials and Engineering
  2. Students study the methods to develop and improve metallic materials, as well as the technology that changes the structure and properties of alloys; they also do research under the supervision of experienced specialists. MISIS laboratories have all necessary equipment for running experiments. Students use modern methods for structural research, computer analysis of phase diagrams and modelling of deformation, casting processes and additive technologies. Graduates work in non-ferrous and ferrous manufacturing industry, mechanical engineering, metal working, railway transport, instrument engineering, car-making, shipbuilding, agricultural machinery industry and aerospace industry.

    Technologies of Materials.

    Entrance examinations:

    Online interview in field-specific disciplines in English.

    Tuition fee:

    265,000 rubles a year*.

  3. English-taught master’s programme “Science and Materials of Solar Energy
  4. The two-year programme is aimed to train solar energy specialists. It is focused on methods to develop and apply conventional and renewable energy sources and materials and systems used for harvesting the energy of the sun.

    Field of study:

    Technologies of Materials.

    Entrance examinations:

    Online field-specific examination in English.

    Tuition fee:

    265,000 rubles a year*.

  5. English-taught master’s programme “Innovative Software Systems: Design, Development & Applications
  6. Students are trained in the design, development and application of innovative software systems in various spheres of human activity. Lectures and practice classes are given by teachers with extensive experience in software development, mathematical modelling of objects and processes and machine learning. Graduates are in demand in IT industry, banking, engineering production etc.

    Field of study:

    Informatics and Computer Technologies.

    Entrance examinations:

    Applicant has to answer programme-specific questions in an online interview.

    Tuition fee:

    265,000 rubles a year*.

  7. Russian-taught specialist programme “Mining Surveying
  8. Length of study is five and half years; students are focused on Earth’s interior, geophysics and geotechnology, mining companies operation and the development, rational use and protection of natural resources. A skilled mine surveyor is essential for normal operation of construction and mining companies (developing open pits, quarries, placer deposits etc.) and oil and gas sector enterprises. Graduates are in demand at geological prospecting organisations and construction companies which build underground railway, tunnels and structures).

    Field of study:

    Applied Geology, Mining Engineering, Oil and Gas Business, Geodesy.

    Entrance examinations:

    Russian language, mathematics, physics. Examinations will be held online based on LMS Canvas.

    Tuition fee:

    242,000 rubles a year*.

    Degree:

    Specialist degree.

  9. Foundation programme
  10. An intensive course in the Russian language and field-specific disciplines in such fields as engineering and technology, natural sciences and economics. Length of study: one year (1 September to 31 August); classes are given five days a week.

    Tuition fee:

    150,000 rubles*.

    Certificate:

    Foundation course completion certificate.

    *Tuition fees 2019/2020. New fees are expected to be approved on 1 June 2020.

    Application documents required for degree programmes:

    • Copy of passport page 1 with notarised translation into Russian.

    • Copy of previous education documents with notarised translation into Russian.

    • Medical clearance for study in Russia which also shows HIV, TB and Hepatitis test results, with notarised translation into Russian.

    • Cover letter and resume in English (for English-taught master’s programmes).

    Degree programmes application deadline: 10 August 2020. International students are recommended to apply early due to longer document processing.
